Analysis

In its 3rd anniversary announcement (Aug 9, 2026), Base reported roughly $5B TVL, $46T in stablecoin volume, and 90% of x402 transactions.

Base Bridge TVL stands at about $2.29B per DefiLlama. Network usage remains active.

Coinbase has officially stated it has no plans to issue a new network token. The price and market-cap data on CoinGecko refer to a ticker Base has not acknowledged, possibly a different token with the same name.

Audits come from the public contest Code4rena and Coinbase's internal team, but no external audit firm name or date is confirmed.
