Jito: jitoSOL Staking & Restaking Guide (No New Airdrop Announced)
What's happening
Jito (a Solana MEV infrastructure and liquid staking protocol) is currently running jitoSOL staking and Jito Restaking as ongoing programs. No time-limited quests or second-round airdrop announcements have been confirmed.
What to do
- Go to jito.network (https://www.jito.network/) and connect your Solana wallet.
- Stake SOL into jitoSOL (any amount, only gas fees required). There is no lockup; you can mint or redeem anytime.
- Simply holding jitoSOL accrues staking rewards plus MEV rewards automatically.
- For extra yield, restake jitoSOL via Jito Restaking (whether a points system exists is unknown).
Whether you'll be eligible for any future airdrop is unknown.
Past seasons / distribution history
Jito is one of Solana's largest liquid staking protocols, with jitoSOL TVL of about $730 million. JTO had its TGE on December 7, 2023, distributing 10% (100 million JTO) of the 1 billion total supply as an airdrop. Recipients included jitoSOL users, validator operators, and MEV searchers, with the snapshot ending on November 25, 2023. It became a well-known example of broad distribution, with even small users receiving thousands of dollars worth of tokens.

No announcement of a second season or additional airdrop has been confirmed.
Cautions
- JTO currently trades around $0.49, down over 90% from its ATH of $6.01 (December 7, 2023).
- Circulating market cap ($250 million) is only about half of FDV ($495 million), implying dilution risk as more tokens are released.
- In 2024, sandwich attacks exploiting Jito's mempool became an issue, and the mempool feature has since been shut down.
- Jito Restaking adds smart contract risk from the restaking target protocols. OtterSec audited it between September 20 and October 10, 2024, but this does not eliminate risk entirely.
- There is no announcement of a new large-scale airdrop, so you should not participate expecting further distributions.
